Fundamentals of Business Administration
The basic module Fundamentals of Business Administration is part of various bachelor courses and is attended by about 500 students per academic year. With this module we want to provide an overview of business management issues and requirements. There is an examination of the sub-areas of business, sales management, production and procurement, external accounting, personnel, financing and investment, management and organisation as well as controlling.
Scope:
During the module, 12 credit points are provided. Accordingly, we assume an average student workload of 360 hours.
Teaching/learning offer:
The lectures (with integrated exercises) are offered regularly on Mondays from 5.45 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. and on Fridays from 8.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. each semester. The event documents (event slides, learning and exercise exercises, literature references and further learning offers) are made available in ILIAS. In order to gain access to the event documents, it is necessary to register for the lecture via KLIPS. In addition to the classroom courses, the module also includes learning and practice tasks. The tasks are set in ILIAS according to the progress of each semester. In ILIAS, solutions to the learning and practice tasks are activated at intervals. In addition to the lectures, tutorial support is offered regularly. At the times offered, students can come to the tutors with questions that have arisen during the completion of the learning and practice tasks. No separate registration is required for participation.
Exam:
The written module examination (90 minutes written exam) is offered twice each semester during the lecture-free period. The examination dates are stored in KLIPS. To take part in the examination, you must register separately for the examination in KLIPS by the specified deadlines. If you have any questions regarding the registration for the examination, please contact your examination office. The examination results will be published in KLIPS. You will then have the opportunity to inspect the corrected examination. ILIAS will announce the date of exam inspection and registration procedures.
Project Eins für Vielfalt (EifVi):
Within the framework of a project funding Innovation in Teaching at the Rectorate of the University of Cologne, this teaching/learning concept for the diversity of study courses will be further developed from the winter semester 2015/2016 to the summer semester 2017.
